To the Water section of the Green Box!

The aim of this section of the Green Box is to assess and monitor the water quality on your farm to find out what impact your farm and other outside influences are having on the water environment. Through taking part you are demonstrating good practice in finding out what enters the watercourse on your farm and considering ways to reduce this risk.

We have divided water monitoring into the following sections –

• Biological health – freshwater invertebrates
• Physical health – turbidity
• Chemical health – ammonia, nitrate, phosphorus, pH

How to get started –

If this is the first time you have visited the Green Box website, then have a look around and if you would like to get involved we suggest taking a look at the guidance notes first. These are downloadable as pdf's from the ‘myGreenBox’ home page, click on the tab to the left of this page and follow the instructions.

If you already have the Green Box guidance notes, go straight to the ‘myGreenBox’ tab from this page. LEAF members, log in using your username and password. This will take you through to the links to help you find out more information.

If you have recordings to enter for water, go straight to the 'myGreenBox' tab and click on the 'make observations' link.
