The LEAF Green Box

WELCOME!

To the Soil section of the Green Box!

The aim of this section of the Green Box is to build up a picture of soil quality using earthworms as the key indicator.  There is guidance on assessing soil structure and organic matter across the farm within the Green Box guidance notes and suggestions for tools which can help you manage and improve these areas as well as highlighting areas which pose a risk to the environment through run off and erosion.  However, within the data collection area there is only the facility for uploading data on earthworms.

How to get started

If this is the first time you have visited the Green Box website, then have a look around and if you would like to get involved we suggest taking a look at the guidance notes first. These are downloadable as pdf's from the ‘myGreenBox’ home page, click on the tab to the left of this page and follow the instructions.

If you already have the Green Box guidance notes, go straight to the ‘myGreenBox’ tab from this page. LEAF members, log in using your username and password. This will take you through to the links to help you find out more information.

If you have recordings to enter for soil, go straight to the 'myGreenBox' tab and click on the 'make observations' tab.  Earthworm observations are ready to be uploaded!

If you need further help once you have started then contact us at greenbox@leafuk.org

Good luck!
