Improving soil biology for better yields

Wednesday 18th January 2017

An advanced level course run by ARTIS Lifelong Learning platform aiming to help growers improve the biology of their soils for better yeilds and resilience.  The course, taught by Keith Goulding, Professor of Soil Science at Rothamsted Research, gives growers a better understanding of the role of soil biology in key processes vital for growth for plants such as nutrient cycling (decomposition, mineralisation, immobilisation and denitrification), structure formation and pest and disease control.

The one-day course will help growers find the answers to key questions such as what are the effects of different farming practices on soil biology and what management practices they can implement to increase soil biology on-farm.

Location: LEAF Demonstration Farm, JSR Farms Ltd, Thirsk, East Yorkshire

LEAF Members qualify for a 15% discount on the course fee.
